Mike and Jo on Tour day 17
Possibly our last day of touring as we stop in Christchurch to catch up with Robyn and also stop for a house sit.
Our journey today was from Timarau to Hornby traveling via SH72 a scenic route a bit longer and slower than SH1.
The first thing we noticed is the snow on the mountains. This has appeared in the last couple of days. We also stopped at a big tree.

Mike and Jo on Tour day 14
We woke to a cold and wet Invercargill so it was a quick get out of town, followed by a quicker back into town to fill up with fuel. Then a quick stop near the most southerly point on the mainland. Followed by another stop near the petrified forest. Being the type of tourist we are because of the rain we didn’t quite make it either of them. We did however see the Cathedral caves as it had stopped raining by the time we arrived.
After finding an hotel in Dunedin we had a walk around the town, found the train station, steam engine, and then a bar.
Matt on Tour day 12
Today is Matt’s last day so a calm day before his flight meant a drive into Queenstown and a jet boat ride.
Well it was good having Matt here now is the time to say goodbye, untill July.
Matt on Tour day 11
Well Matt is on his own tour today and this is what he missed.
A walk along the Routeburn track with a couple of times doubling back trying to find Jo’s sunglasses.
Along with the trip back from the hut to Glenochy without the air codn on checking to see if the fuel light is on and praying that there is a fuel pump in the town.

After a false start it was off to Puzzle World.
Then off to the Cardrona Hotel for a quick drink and a photo._
Before hitting Queenstown it was another stop at Arrowtown. Being the good tourist I failed to take any photos here as too many people in town tosay. In fact we spent more time in the carpark than in the town.
Matt on Tour day 9
Today started off at Fox Glacier taking in the reflection lake and glacier view point before walking to the glacier face. Well nearly to the face, as it is receding at an alarming rate. This is either due to global warming or all the helicopters landing on it.The is was drive and stop our way to Wanaka, only to find the town was full. We managed to book the last site at a camp ground out of town thanks to a very helpful woman at the I-site. On arrival we were informed that the cottage was vacant so we upgraded.

Matt on Tour day 8
Today we are going from our last stop to our next stop. Not sure where rhey were as my tracking software failed big time and didn’t save any of the route.

Matt on Tour day 7
