First off it was a drive to Able Tasman National park. That is after a visit to the supermarket and a quick return to the motel
Having arrived we then had to decide what to do. After a bit of pondering we decided on a walk followed by a boat trip back.
Before leaving the North Island we had a quick visit to Mount Vic then a tour of Te Papa.
The ferry crossing was uneventful and we finished off a drive to Nelson.
Big drive today from Napier to Wellington. To break the journey we stopped to visit Kirsty in Palmerston North. She kindly provided us with coffee and lunch.
We continued to Wellington and after checking in we all went walkabout.
Napier art deco capital of New Zealand. We had a cycle ride into town and a guided tour by Sister Susan.
After a short pause we then went for a drive to Te Mara Point
Well day 2 started with a detour to pick up some fish to take over to Susan.
Then it was off to Napier, going via Rotorua and Taupo.
Well this is day 3 of Matt in NZ
Day 1 was Auckland.
Day 2 Auckland and bus to Hamilton.
So although this is day 3 it is only day 1 of the big tour.
Today Matt went to Waitomo Caves, Bridal Veil Falls and Hobbiton
Yes, it’s that time of year again, when health a d fitness starts. After Mich’s hen night and a day of reflection a NO. drinking policy has been put in place. Along with that there is a healthier and more activity regime in place. So after di ner we have been taking an evening stroll along the sea front wiyh last night’s being the longest. We managed to walk near to Shore Road carpark a return trip of 6.75km.
Tonight we will have to forgo out little outing as we are child minding, but we have already walked into Bournemouth and back again.
After many weeks of putting off training , it is now too late. We are sitting in a bar at Heathrow airport waiting for our plane.
In true Jo and Mike style we arrived early to ensure that if there were hold-ups en route we would still have time. The new smart motorway on the M3 appears to be working and although the speed was reduced to 50mph the traffic kept flowing.
Checking in online meant we walked straight through security and were ready to board at 10:30, unfortunately we won’t find out which gate to go to until 13:05.
Having recovered from jetlag, it is now time to restart training.
Today the tracks are still damp and slippery after the last 2 da of rain, so we took a short walk. Up the hill and down the other to the bay.
