Just had a phone call from Jo to inform me that we had just felt our first earthquake while living in Wellington.

I’m glad she rang as I had been sitting at the computer at home and had just heard this large gust of wind blow down the valley rattling the house as it went.

This rather surprised me as the trees outside hadn’t been moved by the breeze, so was it a ghost passing by?

Thanks to the phone call and the GeoNat website all was explained and I dutifully filled out my report.
