Went halfway up the steps as a training walk. I must also stop recording at the end of each section so that I don’t include the car trips back home.

390 steps down and back up on this walk if you do as we did and go down, up, down, up, down, up, down, up, down, up, down and up. Just like us to get stuck in one spot.

Continuing with our training today’s walk was completed carrying a nearly full pack and going up and down some steps several times.

Jo has bought a new pair of shoes for the upcoming walk, but she’s not happy with them.
Luckily they came with a 30 day return or exchange policy even if they had been worn outside.
So another walk into Hamilton is called for. All good for training.

Our second walk in two days. As it is Easter Sunday we’re not too sure what is open and what is closed today. But we’ll soon find out.

Or
Just got a new watch which can track my route. Hopefully this will help with this year’s walking holiday.

To take a break from digging a hole for myself, we decided to go for a bike ride.
As I had been outside digging for 3 hrs. It was time for a coffee and a item to eat first. After a period for digestion and getting the bikes ready it was 2.00 PM and possibly not the best time of day to start.
So through the heat we made our way to Hamilton via the river, finding an alternative route back home.
Not having been on the bikes for ages you soon see how much fitness you have lost.
Oh well back to my hole.
We have stopped for a week at an house sit just outside of Christchurch. Yesterday we did a trip out to Akaroa. This is supposed to be a French influenced town. We arrived right on lunchtime and were surprised to find everything open. So much for being a French town.
A quick tour of Dunedin and a trip to Port Chalmers to see the Queen Elizabeth. Then a catch up with Helen before continuing north.

Having found a place to stay for the night it was a quick walk, and a stop at the pub, before returning for tea and the sunset.
Matt has now left us and we are now feeling unbalanced without our third wheel.
Having packed up it was off on the road again. This time our destination is Bluff / Invercargill.
